We are pleased to announce that we have recently received FORS Silver accreditation across 15 of our UK operating depots, further establishing our ongoing commitment to safety both on and off site.
Silver accreditation in the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) demonstrates our thorough adoption of best practices in safety, efficiency and environmental protection across 15 of our operating depots. In addition to complying with the requirements laid out by the FORS Standard, the Silver certification also means that our fleet has met the CLOCS Standard for Construction Logistics and TFL’s Work Related Road Risk (WRRR).
The achievement is the result of a company-wide level of investment, dedication and hard work over the last twelve months. This included upgrading our fleet vehicles with the latest camera recording, side scanning and audible warning systems, all to help ensure the safety of vulnerable road-users. We have also provided our drivers and the General Managers of our depots with extensive e-training on various related subjects, including emissions, vulnerable road users, security and anti-terrorism. Refresher courses will continue to be provided throughout the year.
Speaking about the accreditation, CEO Gordon MacDonald said: "Safety has long been at the heart of what we do here at Mabey Hire and this applies to all areas of the business, from our temporary works equipment ensuring the safety of a construction site, to our UK depots and vehicles on the road. We're absolutely delighted to have received the FORS Silver accreditation, making us one of the first in the temporary works sector to have achieved this multi-site certification."
