The next generation in bracing systems, Supershaft Plus has been designed using our engineering expertise to offer large clear spans of up to 25m, allowing greater areas of clear space within large excavations.
Mabey Hire Supershaft Plus is a uniquely fabricated beam, designed using our engineering expertise to offer large clear spans, allowing greater areas of clear space within large excavations.
The bracing system is so strong that it can either completely remove or significantly reduce the requirement for bracing struts or knee braces.
This bracing system has been successfully used in projects to achieve clear spans of 25m allowing the installation of large tanks.
Supershaft Plus has an external working range from 3000mm to 25300mm. For more information on minimum and maximum working ranges see our Groundworks Support Brochure.

When working on a basement excavation project in London, the ability to adapt to changing site requirements is essential. When the project is of the size of Salisbury Square, this becomes even more paramount, with Keltbray relying on our expertise, innovation and comprehensive temporary works offering.
Find out moreAs part of Thames Water’s major projects work, a new final effluent pumping station was required at the Crossness Sewage Treatment Works (STW), helping to cope with higher river levels. Our temporary groundworks solutions were called upon to facilitate this work.
Find out moreDuring expansion works on of the UK’s fastest growing ports, the Port of Tilbury, we worked closely with GRAHAM to provide a flexible, smart and sustainable groundworks solution.
Find out moreKirkthorpe, one of the largest hydroelectric power schemes in Yorkshire, uses the flow of the River Calder to generate the equivalent consumption of 800 households per year. The development required a sheet piled cofferdam to construct a permanent concrete structure.
Find out moreSituated on the harbour front, the wastewater system for Stranraer and the surrounding areas was deemed outdated and in need of replacement. Part of the project involved the construction of a new pipe, requiring a frame for the cofferdam.
Find out moreThe grocer Morrisons planned to expand with a new superstore, forecourt and petrol station in Gloucester as part of their UK store roll-out. We were approached to advise on the temporary works in a very tightly timed build programme.
Find out moreDuring the creation of a new petrol filling station for supermarket chain Morrisons in Wisbech, our groundworks systems provided the perfect solution.
Find out moreIn Edinburgh, pressure-relieving valves (PRVs) that were not working properly had led to major flooding in the area. Scottish Water needed our ground support to help the installation of two new PRVs and connecting pipework.
Find out moreDuring works at the Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility in Derby, our engineers designed a five-level frame to support the largest ever excavation we have undertaken.
Find out moreOur engineered solutions range from standard designs to major projects, through to emergencies. We can also offer an end-to-end service from design and supply through to installation and removal.
