Mabey Hire is investing £1 million into its vehicle fleet in order to improve customer deliveries across the country. The significant investment is also part of their drive to be a greener business and meet Euro 6 standards, the latest emissions standards put in place to improve air quality and health.
The first vehicle, a Mercedes Benz 26 tonne HGV has been greeted by employees this morning at Mabey Hire HQ in Dewsbury and will go onto the Hatfield depot where it will be based. This vehicle will be used to transport temporary works kit to customers across the UK, improving infrastructure across the business.
Another seven vehicles will follow in 2019, to be based at Mabey Hire’s Strood, Romsey, Durham, Calne, Newton Abbot and Bury St Edmunds depots. These will be a mix of 26 tonne Hiabs and 26 tonne flatbed vehicles. Following this there are plans for further investment in van fleet.
Transport Manager at Mabey Hire Martin Binns commented: “This is a significant investment in our fleet to satisfy growing demand from the marketplace and ensure the highest level of safety on our vehicles.”
