Leading bridge and engineering services specialist Mabey has secured two Gold safety awards for employee health and safety in the UK. Mabey’s UK Hire business has secured its fifth consecutive Gold Award while its Bridge business has also secured a Gold award.
The awards, from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), recognise high levels of health and safety performance, well developed management systems and outstanding control of risk.
Juliette Stacey, Mabey’s Group Chief Executive, said: "Our people deliver critical infrastructure and construction projects more quickly, efficiently and, as these awards recognise, safely day in day out for our clients. It is vital for our customers, employees and the public that we operate safely and our fifth and first award for our Hire and Bridge businesses respectively reflects our commitment to do just that. We’re delighted to have been recognised and are determined to keep improving our safety performance."
The RoSPA Awards recognise businesses committed to promoting wellbeing at work and preventing accidents. The scheme is open to all businesses, and judges consider occupational health and safety leadership, management systems, leadership and employee involvement.
Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat. This is a special year in the history of RoSPA, and we congratulate all of our winners in this, our centenary year”.
