Monitoring in construction can be used to measure the effects of site activity on nearby buildings or to monitor pollution levels of certain substances during construction activity. Monitoring uses sensors placed around the boundary of a work site to measure pollution levels or directly on to buildings to measure structural movement.
Many of our solutions can be adapted to your individual requirements and are set up by our expert engineers. The data from the monitoring sensors is wirelessly transmitted in real-time to our unique web portal, called Insite where you can access, view and analyse it.
Whether you need to measure structural movement or environmental factors either at the start of works or during your project, we have a wide range of monitoring products and services suitable for you.
We have monitoring solutions for both structural and environmental monitoring. Our Structural monitoring solutions measure the impact of movement on buildings or structures from nearby activity. Whereas Environmental monitoring measures the impact nearby activity has on the environment by detecting changing levels of noise, dust, vibration and voc’s (volatile organic compounds).

Our monitoring equipment covers a wide range of monitoring solutions, including Structural Monitoring, Environmental Monitoring and Noise Monitoring; we provide bespoke monitoring solutions for any construction project. Not only do we supply and install monitoring equipment, we provide real-time reporting through our advanced construction monitoring system, Insite. Our Insite portal takes care of all your monitoring data delivered by each of our tailored monitoring solutions.
When differential settlement was detected between the piers to a busy motorway bridge in Manchester, we were called upon to assist with adjustments to the bridge bearings, involving levels of precision rarely seen, as well as continuous monitoring of the micro-millimetre increments to the jacking procedure.
Find out moreLocated in Northumberland, the South Tyne Viaduct carries the Tyne Valley line (between Newcastle and Carlisle) over the South Tyne River. When repairs were needed on the bridge’s concrete piers, a combination of temporary jacking equipment and track monitoring solutions were required, resulting in us being appointed by AmcoGiffen.
Find out moreAs one of the world’s largest orbital motorways, any maintenance closures of the M25 must be carefully planned to avoid major disruption. As a result, having real-time data on the structural condition of infrastructure on the motorway is essential. That’s why our structural monitoring technology was recently deployed.
Find out moreA new solution was needed to provide relief from congestion on an ageing bridge in Widnes. The high profile and complex project required significant temporary works support and we used our expertise to deliver a bespoke propping and monitoring scheme.
Find out moreLocated on one of the major routes near Manchester Airport, the M60 Palatine Road Viaduct is used by over 80,000 vehicles every day. During a routine inspection, it was discovered it was in need of essential repair. We provided support to keep the bridge open during repairs.
Find out moreDuring the tunnelling works for Crossrail, we helped to manage the impact of the works to the busy Canning Town flyover. We designed and delivered a complex system to lift and monitor the structure for any movement.
Find out moreTunnelling in London presents many complex engineering challenges. With a maze of existing tunnels, utilities and building foundations to navigate, care and consideration needs to be given. Real-time monitoring allowed the project to go ahead without affecting the surrounding structures.
Find out moreOur temporary works solutions cover groundworks support, propping, jacking, formwork, falsework, temporary bridging and temporary access. Our expertise in structural engineering is also complemented by our specialist team of engineers who provide real-time environmental monitoring and structural monitoring solutions.
